My Report - a story

By Nick

One day I went to the zoo with my family to take notes on spider monkeys for a school project. The guy showing me around told me they lived in the rainforest.  I took a lot of notes.
                     Notes
     1. Uses tail…
     2. as an Extra leg
     3. Lives in rain forest

I just got done writing when suddenly I couldn’t believe my eyes.  The spider monkey had a mango and jumped really far and dunked it on two rounded branches.  I mean he jumped 54 feet! I bet his feat would never get accomplished by a human!  The sad part is that no one thought it was cool but me.
Then another spider monkey jumped out of its cage and hugged me.  I was so surprised.  I mean the keys were hanging up by the lock and he took them and got out of the cage. Then he locked it right up.  He was even wearing a Baltimore Orioles hat.  The zoo keeper said he came from Baltimore. So that makes sense.
We were going home and I didn’t notice that the spider monkey that hugged me was following me.  Once I saw him I thought to myself that I must be it because he likes me. So I snuck him in the back of my Dad’s car without Dad noticing.
During the car ride I put him in my backpack. It
took a couple of hours to get to Burger King  I ordered double for the spider monkey and me.  I thought he would eat it because he didn’t come from the rain forest.  I wasn’t wrong. All together our food was 50 dollars.
It was 4:45 pm when we got home.  I took some more notes.

                  Notes
      4. Eats mangos
      5. Eats Burger King
      6. Sensitive

My report is due in two days!  I have all the information I need so tonight I will build a robot and the robot will return the spider monkey to the zoo.  I went to my dad’s tool case and brought it to my room.  It took three hours to build the robot. I needed screws and bolts and all of that kind of stuff.  And I was surprised I built it so fast.  It was 7:30pm by the time I finished.  I waited till 11:00 to start Operation Spider Monkey.  I took my robot down stairs and put the spider monkey in the cage (that I built) in the robots arms. I used my controller (that controlled the robot) to make the robot go to the zoo.
I knew where it was going because I had a GPS hooked up to it.  It was midnight and I had one mile to go then I could drop it off.  At 12:15 I was at the zoo.  So I dropped him off at his cage and said goodbye on my microphone.
It was very sad and I cried and cried and cried until my whole bed was soaked! I went my notes and wrote…

                  Notes
     7. My best friend

I wrote my best friend on my notes because the spider monkey loved me and I loved him. It was the saddest night of my life.
The next morning I had breakfast and I walked to school, with my notes. I hoped the teacher would accept them.
I gave them to her.  After recess my notes were on my desk. I covered my eyes because I didn’t want to see a bad report. Finally I opened my eyes and there was an A plus right in front of me!
After school I begged my mom to for a half an hour to go to the zoo. She said “yes”. We arrived at the zoo and I ran right to the spider monkey.
“THANK YOU,” I said.  And I gave the spider monkey a big hug through the bars.
I asked the manager, who was my uncle, if I could keep the spider monkey that came from Baltimore. He said “yes,” and I said, “thank you thank you thank you”.  Me, my spider monkey and my parents went home and we were all happy with our lives.
